We are seeking dedicated, reliable, and empathetic Disability Support Workers across Adelaide to provide emotional, social, and practical support to our clients. In this role, the client is at the heart of everything you do—promoting their choices, dignity, and rights every single day.
Key Responsibilities
- General & Personal Care: Provide compassionate support with personal hygiene (showering, grooming, toileting), mobility/transfers (hoists, slide sheets), and prescribed topical treatments.
- Domestic Assistance & Meal Prep: Assist with household duties, cleaning, laundry, bed making, and preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Community Participation & Social Outings: Support clients in accessing social, recreational, educational, or employment activities, fostering community inclusion and positive relationships.
- Health & Wellbeing Monitoring: Monitor and report health changes, assist with medication management and administration according to care plans, and implement professional strategies (e.g., allied health programs).
- Transport Assistance: Safely transport clients to appointments, social engagements, and community events using your reliable, insured vehicle.
- Administrative & Compliance Duties: Complete clear, concise case notes within 24 hours of shift completion, report risks/incidents, and adhere to NDIS Quality Standards.
What We Are Looking ForEssential Criteria & Qualifications:
- Qualifications: Minimum Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care), Community Services, or equivalent.
- Screenings & Checks:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check & Aged Care Employment Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Certifications: Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
- Licence & Transport: Valid Australian Driver’s Licence with access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Training & Health Requirements:
- Completion of the 4 NDIS Worker Orientation Modules.
- Up-to-date Manual Handling and Infection Control training.
- Tech Skills: Access to a smartphone and comfort using rostering apps and basic software.
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Demonstrated experience providing person-centred care in disability or aged care sectors.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with strong empathy, patience, and active listening.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and flexibility to manage changing client needs or varied shift times (short/long shifts, overnights, or last-minute requests).
- High attention to detail for following care plans and writing professional case notes.
