Our Logan Home and Community Service seeks a dedicated Home Care Worker to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. In this role, you will offer essential assistance to clients, aiding them in daily tasks to maintain independence and comfort at home. The pay-rate for the role will range from $35.77-$35.94/hr depending on your experience.
Shift timings will be between Mon-Fri 6:30am - 6pm. No weekends. Minimum 3 days availability is needed.
Service areas include: Bahrs Scrub, Bannockburn, Beenleigh, Belivah, Buccan, Carbrook, Cornubia, Daisy Hill, Eagleby, Edens Landing, Holmview, Loganholme, Logan Village, Mt Cotton, M Warren Park, Shailer Park, Tanah Merah, Windaroo, Wolffdene, Yarrabilba
About the role:
- Performs a range of activities of daily living which may include but is not limited to hygiene, dressing and grooming, shopping, transport and respite in line with the prescribed care plan.
- Completes domestic duties of a routine nature within the client's home to assist in the provision of a clean, comfortable, safe and secure environment which may include cooking and preparing meals.
- Supports clients to meet their social needs.
- Follows work plan/schedule and prioritise key tasks.
- Assists in administering medication within the scope of the role and as deemed competent.
- Produces accurate written information using forms, log books and templates appropriate to the task.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team and contribute to a positive, client-focused culture.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively and sensitively with a range of clients, including those with challenging behaviours, or clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own work activities and schedules to meet established deadlines and achieve high quality work outcomes.
- Sound verbal and written communication abilities, including the ability to understand instructions, read and navigate road maps, comprehend care plans and communicate clearly and professionally with both clients and staff.
Knowledge and skills of safe food handling and preparation in line with current health standards.

- Current National Police Certificate
- Current Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability Services or equivalent
- Completion of Module HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication (or commitment to obtain)
- Completion of Module HLTAAP001 - Recognise healthy body systems (or commitment to obtain
