Samuel Hydrovac is a family-owned, non-destructive digging (NDD) and civil services business based in Oberon, Central West NSW. We provide hydro excavation, potholing, service location support, high-pressure water jetting, vacuum loading and drain cleaning to councils, civil contractors and utilities across NSW. We run a modern, well-maintained fleet and we're growing fast.
We're looking for a reliable, safety-focused NDD / Hydrovac Operator to join our crew full-time.
About the role
As an NDD / Hydrovac Operator, you'll operate our vacuum excavation truck to deliver clean, safe, high-quality non-destructive digging for our clients. Your day-to-day will include:
- Operating hydrovac / vacuum excavation equipment for potholing, trenching and service exposure
- Safely exposing underground utilities within exclusion zones using best-practice NDD methods
- Completing Dial Before You Dig checks, site set-up and traffic/pedestrian management
- Carrying out high-pressure water jetting and vacuum loading tasks
- Completing daily pre-starts and maintaining trucks and equipment to a high standard
- Keeping accurate job records, dockets and site documentation
- Working to our WHS system SWMS, permits and safe work procedures on every job
What you'll need (essential)
- Current HR (Heavy Rigid) truck licence
- Construction White Card (SafeWork NSW general construction induction)
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling (hoses, equipment)
- Reliable, punctual and safety-focused with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to travel and stay away for regional work when required
Highly regarded (desirable)
- Experience operating hydrovac, NDD or vacuum trucks
- Traffic control tickets (Implement Traffic Control Plan / Traffic Controller)
- Confined space, working at heights, gas test or EWP tickets
- Understanding of underground utilities, potholing and exclusion-zone digging
- Civil, plumbing, drainage or excavation background
