Step into a vital role as an Assistant Building Surveyor with our progressive and supportive Building Services Team. You’ll be at the forefront of supporting safety and compliance across the Surf Coast Shire, working closely with the Municipal Building Surveyor to uphold building regulations and industry standards.
In this role, you’ll:
- Support building compliance and enforcement investigations.
- As a member of the highly dynamic Building Services team, support the MBS with delivering Council’s Statutory functions,
- Ensure accurate records and adherence to legislative and code of conduct requirements
- Navigate a wide range of scenarios, from rural builds and mixed-use developments to accommodation and major events
- Contribute to a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Key Selection Criteria
Mandatory Qualifications, Experience and Requirements
- Qualification and experience suitable for registration as Victorian Building Practitioner.
- Minimum 1 Year Local Government Building Services experience including Report and Consent, Pool Compliance, Place of Public Entertainment, customer request management, enforcement inspections.
- Experience with regional/rural and coastal property concerns highly desirable.
- Experience with Salesforce and Greenlight highly desirable.
