About the Opportunity
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will play an important role in preparing the next generation of community services professionals.
You will deliver engaging, practical and industry-relevant training while creating a positive learning environment where students feel supported to achieve their goals.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver engaging classroom and practical training across the Diploma of Community Services.
- Use innovative teaching strategies, activities, case studies and resources to engage diverse learners.
- Develop, review and continuously improve learning and assessment materials.
- Provide students with meaningful feedback, academic guidance and ongoing support.
- Conduct fair, consistent and competency-based assessments.
- Maintain accurate student, assessment and progress records.
- Ensure training and assessment practices meet relevant regulatory, quality and compliance requirements.
- Bring current industry practices, legislation, ethical considerations and sector developments into the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams to enhance the student experience.
- Foster an inclusive, respectful and student-centred learning environment.
About You
We are looking for an educator who combines industry expertise with a genuine passion for student success.
You will ideally have:
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Youth Work, Counselling or a related discipline.
- Current or recent professional experience within the community services sector.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent.
- Experience delivering competency-based training and assessment.
- The ability to engage, motivate and support students from diverse backgrounds
- A strong commitment to inclusive education and student success.
- Knowledge of relevant community services legislation, professional standards and ethical frameworks.
- The ability to translate industry experience into practical and engaging learning experiences.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Confidence using digital learning platforms, Learning Management Systems and standard office applications.
- A commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends and best practice.
