The Victorian Institute of Teaching is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Senior Professional Practice Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting the professional practice of registered teachers across Victoria.
About the role
As part of the Professional Practice and Policy team you will lead and contribute to projects that support teacher professional practice and conduct, with a particular focus on the early childhood sector.
As a trusted subject matter expert in early childhood education, you will work across the profession to develop resources, provide guidance, influence policy, and build stakeholder relationships that support best practice across diverse educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and contribute to projects that support professional practice and conduct for registered teachers, with a focus on early childhood education and care.

Develop practical resources, guidance materials and professional learning content aligned to professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the education sector.

Facilitate stakeholder engagement activities workshops and presentations to promote best practice.

Contribute to policy development, strategic initiatives add continuous improvement activities.

Research and analyse emerging issues and trends to inform professional practice and supporting evidence based decision making.

Prepare reports, briefings and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
About you
You are an experienced early childhood teaching professional who understands the challenges and opportunities facing the sector and is passionate about supporting excellence in teaching practice.

Deep knowledge and experience within the early childhood education and care sector.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex information into practical advice.
