About the Role
Family and Community Counselling Services (FCCS) provides counselling to individuals, couples, children and families experiencing family and relationship challenges. Services are delivered across Townsville and Mount Isa, with outreach support provided throughout the region.
As a Counsellor, you will:
Deliver evidence-based counselling to individuals, couples, children and families
Conduct assessments and develop therapeutic goals and intervention plans
Facilitate groups and contribute to community education activities
Manage a caseload in line with service and funding requirements
Participate in case discussions, professional supervision and ongoing development
Maintain professional client records and reports
Undertake occasional outreach travel as required
Skills and Experiences:
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences or a related field
Eligibility for membership with a relevant professional association
Strong written and verbal communication skills
An understanding of evidence-based counselling practices and therapeutic interventions
Knowledge of relevant legislation and contemporary service delivery frameworks
A current Open Driver Licence
Current (or ability to obtain) Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Highly Regarded
Experience delivering therapeutic counselling interventions
Experience working with individuals, children, families and couples
Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse communities
