Own the engine room of a national, multi-entity finance function
JNF Australia raises funds and drives projects that shape the future of Israel's land, people and environment. Behind that mission sits a finance operation spanning three legal entities and five state divisions — and we're looking for an experienced, accurate and highly organised Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of its day-to-day financial processing.
This hands-on role covers banking, accounts payable, payroll processing, donation reconciliation, inter-entity accounting, compliance support and audit-ready recordkeeping. You'll report to the Financial Controller / National Finance Manager, who retains overall finance leadership. This is a full-time, five-day-per-week role based on-site at our Bondi Junction office.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash book processing and bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, entities and divisions
- Accounts payable — supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, payment batches, correct coding across entities/divisions/cost centres
- Payroll processing — leave, allowances, superannuation and STP support
- Donation and CRM reconciliation to bank receipts, correctly coded by entity, division and project
- Inter-entity and inter-divisional accounting and reconciliations
- International remittances and project payments
- Supplier statement reconciliations ahead of payment runs
- BAS/IAS, GST and PAYG withholding compliance support
- Month-end schedules, journals and reconciliations supporting management and Board reporting
- Maintaining complete, audit-ready records and consistent process documentation
What You'll Bring
- 5–7+ years' bookkeeping experience, ideally multi-entity, multi-division or not-for-profit, with payroll processing experience
- Strong hands-on MYOB AccountRight experience
- Practical payroll experience (leave, super, PAYG, compliance)
- Strong bank reconciliation, AP, supplier reconciliation and GL coding skills
- Strong Excel (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations)
- Confident written and verbal communication with staff, suppliers and stakeholders
Desirable
- Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (or equivalent experience)
- BAS Agent registration, or BAS/IAS preparation experience
- Charity, community or NFP sector experience
- Donor/CRM/campaign income reconciliation experience
- Inter-entity accounting or restricted project fund experience
- Exposure to international payments or project acquittals
What's On Offer
- Attractive salary package, commensurate with experience, plus superannuation
- Paid Jewish holidays in accordance with organisational policy
- Genuine variety across multi-entity finance, payroll and compliance
- Direct mentoring from the Financial Controller / National Finance Manager, in a small, close-knit finance team
If you're an experienced bookkeeper who wants more than data entry — real ownership, variety and purpose — we'd love to hear from you.
