About the role
As an Analyst, Insights & Data within/Lines Operational Integration & Performance Team, you will leverage operational and customer data to deliver insights that support business performance, operational excellence and customer experience outcomes.
Working across a variety of datasets, you'll develop reporting solutions, identify trends and opportunities, and provide analyses that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key accountabilities include:
Analyse operational and customer data to identify trends, performance insights and improvement opportunities.
Present analytical findings and insights to stakeholders across the business, translating complex data into clear recommendations that support informed decision-making.
Develop, maintain and enhance dashboards, reports and analytics solutions to support business decision-making.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity and consistency of key operational and customer datasets.
Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to investigate business challenges, evaluate performance and identify data-driven solutions.
Drive continuous improvement through the enhancement of data platforms, automation of reporting processes and the use of data-led insights
About you:
You are an analytical and adaptable professional who enjoys turning data into meaningful insights. You thrive in a dynamic environment, partnering with stakeholders to solve problems, support operational change, and drive continuous improvement.
Additionally, you will hold:
Demonstrated experience analysing and interpreting complex data, using SQL and other databases, data warehousing, reporting and/or analytical tools to generate meaningful business insights and support decision-making.
Experience working in an operational environment, with exposure to transport, logistics, infrastructure or other service-focused industries is highly regarded.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to varied audiences.
A curious, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
A tertiary qualification in data analytics, statistics, data science, business analytics or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

This position will be paid in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administration Employees Agreement 2023 and is classified at the Clerk C2-C4 level, with a base salary ranging from $95,026 to $105,716 per annum, plus superannuation.
The selection process may include aptitude assessments and a behavioural interview.
