Clerk Grade 11/12 - $154,231 | $178,369 PA, plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
Your role
An exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting one of NSW's largest and most complex social housing portfolios. As the Finance Systems Specialist, you will lead financial systems improvements, strengthen financial reporting capability, and ensure the integrity and accuracy of critical financial data across integrated systems. This role offers the opportunity to partner with senior stakeholders, drive process improvement, influence strategic decision-making, and contribute to the effective management of Homes NSW's significant housing assets and financial reporting obligations.
What you’ll do
As part of the Homes NSW Finance team, you will lead the review, design and implementation of financial systems and reporting improvements that support effective decision-making, compliance and operational excellence.
You will:
Lead the review, design and implementation of finance system enhancements and reporting frameworks.
Monitor and maintain the integrity of financial data across multiple integrated systems.
Investigate, analyse and resolve discrepancies between the General Ledger and upstream systems.
Lead the annual revaluation of the social housing property portfolio in accordance with AASB 116.
Support the development and implementation of finance policies, standards and accounting practices.
Provide expert advice to finance and business stakeholders on financial systems, reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
Identify opportunities to improve automation, controls, reporting capability and business processes.
Build and maintain productive relationships with finance leaders, system owners, auditors, Treasury and key business stakeholders.
Contribute to compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, Treasury Directions and statutory reporting requirements.
You'll work alongside experienced finance professionals in a collaborative, high-performing team that values innovation, continuous improvement and stakeholder partnership. The role operates in a dynamic environment supporting the delivery of critical housing outcomes across NSW.
What we’re looking for
Demonstrated experience leading finance systems, financial reporting or process improvement initiatives within a large and complex organisation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate and resolve data integrity issues across multiple integrated financial systems.
Extensive knowledge of financial management practices, Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements.
Proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and provide trusted advice to senior leaders, business partners and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong financial accounting experience supporting major capital programs, infrastructure or construction projects.
Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Economics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Qualified Accountant with current professional membership.
Ability to undertake occasional intrastate travel, including overnight travel when required.
