This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing
- Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, provide safe, compassionate, person centred care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients.
- Assist in the evaluation of nursing care through provision of information, documentation and reporting changes in patient's conditions and participation in Unit meetings and discussions.
- Acts as a preceptor to other enrolled nurses, undergraduates, Assistants in Nursing and work experience students as appropriate.
- Work within own scope of practice and seek support, learning and education where required.
- Where the occupant of the position is medication endorsed, administer medications in accordance with NSW Health and Far West LHD policies and procedures.

About Wilcannia
Wilcannia is a small, primarily Aboriginal community in far west NSW situated on the banks of the Darling River. Once a busy river port, the town is full of history and heritage listed buildings. The outdoor cinema, music festivals and a bunch of local sporting opportunities including tennis, golf, lawn bowls and footy will keep you busy. In the heart of the Aussie Outback, life in Wilcannia is quiet, clean and beautiful.
The Wilcannia Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) has a 24-hour 2 bed emergency department and 8 residential aged care beds. Wilcannia MPS has been providing care to the local community for over 140 years.

- Current Endorsed Enrolled Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
- Demonstrated capacity to identify and resolve conflict situations by managing own emotional responses and interacting with others in a personable and professional manner.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
