We are seeking a motivated, energetic and reliable individual for a fulltime position as a Civil & Structural Design Technician / Drafter, for immediate start.
Recent Engineering Graduates with drafting experience seeking exposure to gain extensive all round civil & structural design experience in a fast paced environment are also welcomed to apply.
The role involves working on diverse rage of structural and civil design projects including commercial, retail and residential developments and civil land subdivisions plus infrastructure projects. The candidate must be able to operate with a high degree of autonomy with guidance from the senior engineer for detailed designs.
Applicants are required to fulfil the following essential criteria:
- At least 2 years experience in documenting residential, commercial, low rise structures using AutoCAD. Knowledge of REVIT an advantage but not essential.
- Additionally experience with roads and bulk earthworks, stormwater drainage, water and sewer reticulation and infrastructure works.
- Formal qualifications such as Dip in Engineering (Level 5-6 or equivalent).
- Understand the importance of co-ordination of projects between disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal, committed, time management and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of 2D & 3D AutoCAD + GIS packages + Microsoft suite.
- Knowledge of relevant local design codes & standards will be considered favorably.
- Ability to deliver projects to agreed times.
- Self-motivated, communicates well, enjoys being part of a team.
- Must have current full permanent working rights in Australia (No work sponsorships)
Duties also include overall management of AutoCAD standards for the office and software updates as necessary. Work may involve liaison with clients from time to time so highly developed communication skills would be essential.
