The Role The State Squad and Development Coach plays a central role in leading Albany Creek Leisure Centre’s performance pathway programs. We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced coach who can guide swimmer progression, support competitive development, and contribute to a positive, highperformance squad environment.
With significant program growth over the past 12 months, this role is essential in delivering structured, highquality training programs that help swimmers transition confidently into competitive squad levels. The successful candidate will foster an engaging, supportive, and inspiring environment where swimmers feel motivated to achieve their goals
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a capacity to deliver the following essential skills:

Lead and develop State Development and State Squad programs to achieve progression and performance outcomes

Plan and deliver highquality, ageappropriate training sessions

Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant squad operations

Actively promote squad participation and support the affiliated Albany Creek Swimming Club
-
Monitor swimmer development and identify talent across the broader program
-
Encourage and facilitate swimmer participation in competitions throughout the year
-
Work collaboratively with the Swim School, coaching team, and other facility user groups
-
Maintain strong communication with swimmers and parents to support athlete development
You may be required to work mornings, evenings and weekends and attend competitions throughout the year and must be empathetic to the needs of the swimming and water safety program and other user groups in the facility.
Essential

Teacher of Competitive Swimming / Competitive Strokes

Bronze level Qualification - Preferred

Current First Aid & CPR Certificate

Valid Working with Children Check

National Police Check

Previous experience and success in a comparable role

Strong communication, leadership, and athletemanagement skills
