About the Role
Hearthill Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Engineering Technologist to join our team.
The successful candidate will support the design, development and manufacture of our products and
work closely with management, clients, suppliers and our production team to ensure products are
manufactured in accordance with technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
This position is suited to an Engineering Technologist with strong technical drawing and product
design skills and a sound understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify product designs based on customer requirements, technical specifications and
manufacturing requirements.
- Prepare, review and update detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and
Autodesk Inventor.
- Review existing product designs and recommend modifications to improve functionality,
manufacturability and product performance.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications and provide technical guidance to production
and workshop personnel.
- Monitor manufacturing and fabrication activities to ensure products are produced in accordance
with approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Identify and investigate technical and production issues arising during fabrication and assembly
and develop practical solutions in consultation with the production team.
- Determine appropriate materials, components and technical requirements for manufacturing
projects.
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and assist with developing or modifying
products to meet their operational needs.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding materials, components, technical specifications, availability and
quotations.
- Maintain engineering drawings, product specifications and other technical documentation relating
to product design and manufacturing.
- Work closely with management and the production team on new product development and
improvements to existing products and manufacturing processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A relevant qualification in engineering, engineering technology, mechanical engineering or a
related discipline.
- Relevant experience in an engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or similar technical
environment.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
- Ability to prepare and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Strong technical problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, suppliers and
production personnel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary
$80,000 – $90,000 + superannuation per annum.
The final salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills and
experience.
