Subcontractor Truck Driver – Interstate Art Transport

Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions is a respected, family-owned auction house that has been operating for over 28 years. We are seeking a professional, reliable and experienced subcontractor truck driver to undertake regular interstate deliveries of fine art, carpets and sculptures.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys long-distance driving and is looking for regular subcontract work with attractive rates while working with a well-established and highly regarded business.
About the Role
Approximately 15–20 interstate trips per year
Most trips depart Monday afternoon and return Thursday evening
Regular destinations include Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane
Driving a company 4-tonne Pantech truck (a current Medium Rigid (MR) licence is a minimum requirement)
Loading, securing, transporting and unloading valuable stock
Representing Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions professionally when dealing with clients and collectors
Working independently while maintaining a high standard of care and presentation
All reasonable travel expenses, including accommodation, fuel and meals, are covered by the company
About You
You will:
Have previous truck driving experience, ideally interstate
Be reliable, punctual, well organised and well presented
Be physically fit and capable of manual handling and some heavy lifting
Take exceptional care when handling valuable and fragile items
Have a friendly, professional manner and enjoy dealing with customers and have good English and communication skills
Be able to work independently and take pride in your work
Experience in logistics or handling fragile goods will be highly regarded.
