Details: About the opportunity
CIT is seeking a skilled and motivated industry professional to lead the stakeholder engagement and relationship management function in the Cyber Security TAFE Centre of Excellence (CS TCoE) to strengthen Australia’s cyber capability and workforce.
The Cyber Security TCoE is one of two flagship Centres of Excellence hosted by CIT under the National Skills Agreement, alongside the Electric Vehicle TCoE. These Centres are jointly funded by the Commonwealth and ACT Governments and are central to national workforce development in clean transport and digital security.

To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate a strong background in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and project coordination within the cyber security, education, or related technology sectors. Experience working with diverse partners, including industry, government, TAFEs and universities is essential.
Key attributes include excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, enabling the individual to effectively liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and promote collaboration. Strong organisational and project management abilities are necessary to manage multiple projects, record, track, and report engagement activities, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deliverables.
A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset, combined with a passion for workforce development and digital security, will enable the candidate to excel in this dynamic and impactful role.
What you’ll do
As the Industry Program Manager – Cyber Security TAFE Centre of Excellence, your main responsibilities will be:

Engage with industry, cyber, and education partners to advance CS TCoE goals, coordinating stakeholder and Advisory Group meetings, events, and communications

Coordinate and implement CS TCoE project stakeholder communications under direction of the Senior Stakeholder manager. Record, track and report engagement aligned with agreed milestones and deliverables.

Develop and nurture partnerships with Defence, government, TAFEs, universities, prime contractors and advanced technology industry organisations to support the program, liaising with the Canberra Cyber Hub and Future Skills Organisation

Work with industry and government to map skills gaps, co-design training programs, secure commitment to host pilot cohorts, and shape workplace arrangements for the higher apprenticeship to enable rapid upskilling and scaling of training delivery.

Deliver targeted promotional activities including career interest workshops and forums, schools’ engagement and industry networking forums to raise awareness of cyber pathways, training opportunities and career transitions.

Develop collaborative activities with TAFE CoEs, TAFE Cyber and TAFE partners within the National TAFE Network to streamline content development and promote consistency

Support development of the Cyber Incubator Hub through stakeholder engagement and development of strategy and policy frameworks
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Desirable
- Qualifications in information technology, cyber security, business, or related discipline are highly desirable.

Experience in vocational education and training or a related industry sector will be well regarded.
Note: This is a temporary position available from 27 September 2026 to 29 December 2028, with the possibility of permanency.
An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
