About the opportunity
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Recruitment Coordinator to join our small, close-knit HR team and play a key role in connecting exceptional people with meaningful work. If you have recent recruitment coordination experience, talent acquisition support experience, or are a recent HR graduate with a genuine passion for recruitment, we’d love to hear from you.
In this varied and fast-paced role, you’ll support recruitment from attraction through to selection, partnering with hiring managers and candidates to deliver a smooth, professional and engaging experience. You’ll provide practical guidance on recruitment processes, position descriptions and immigration requirements, while using your strong coordination skills to help SAHMRI attract and retain outstanding researchers and professionals.
You’ll also gain exposure to broader HR activities, including employee lifecycle support, projects and process improvement initiatives, making this a fantastic opportunity to build your HR career in a purpose-led organisation.
What you will do
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes with care, accuracy and professionalism
- Manage the central careers inbox and provide timely, helpful communication to candidates and stakeholders
- Build trusted relationships with hiring managers and support effective recruitment planning
- Deliver a positive, professional candidate experience at every stage
- Coordinate interviews, selection activities and panel logistics
- Participate on interview panels as required
- Maintain accurate recruitment records, databases and reports
What you will bring
- Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, HR coordination or HR administration, or a relevant HR qualification and strong motivation to learn
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and follow-through
- The ability to balance competing priorities and stay calm in a busy environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and willingness to improve how things are done
- Strong computer skills and confidence learning new systems
- A genuine interest in people, culture, recruitment and HR
