RSG Plastering and Maintenance is a Melbourne-based plastering business with over 18 years of industry experience delivering high-quality wall and ceiling lining services across residential construction projects. Our work includes new homes, renovations, extensions, repairs and maintenance projects throughout metropolitan Melbourne.
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Plasterer (Wall and Ceiling) to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Examining plans, drawings and specifications to determine material requirements and installation methods
- Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, fibre cement sheeting and other lining materials to required dimensions
- Preparing wall and ceiling surfaces and setting out work areas for installation
- Fixing plasterboard sheets to walls, ceilings and partitions using appropriate fastening methods
- Installing suspended ceilings, bulkheads, partitions, cornices, trims and decorative mouldings
- Applying fire-rated, acoustic and specialty wall and ceiling systems in accordance with project specifications
- Taping joints and applying compounds to plasterboard surfaces
- Sanding, smoothing and finishing surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish ready for painting or decoration
- Repairing and replacing damaged wall and ceiling linings as required
- Inspecting completed work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and quality standards
- Maintaining tools, equipment and materials in a safe and serviceable condition
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant building standards
Skills and Experience Required
- At least two years of relevant experience as a Wall and Ceiling Plasterer, or a relevant trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience installing and finishing plasterboard wall and ceiling systems
- Ability to read and interpret plans and construction drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
