We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused Library Customer Service Officer to join our team on a casual basis and help deliver exceptional library services to our growing community.

$39.97 per hour + casual loading + superannuation

We're looking for someone who is passionate about customer service and enjoys creating positive experiences for every visitor.
As a Library Customer Service Officer, you'll be the friendly face of the library, helping customers access services, resources and technology while supporting the delivery of programs that connect our community.
Engage, support and connect library users with a wide range of library services, resources and activities.
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting library users with general enquiries and the use of technology, including public computers and digital resources.
Operate the Library Management System to process memberships, loans, returns, reservations and other library transactions.
Explain library procedures, policies and regulations to customers in a clear and helpful manner.
Assist customers to access and use the library's e-book and digital collections.
Support and participate in the delivery of library programs, activities and community events.
Participate in ongoing professional development through internal and external training opportunities.
Maintain an organised and accessible library collection through shelving, sorting and shelf reading.
Be available to work weekends as required to meet operational needs.
Comply with all Work Health and Safety responsibilities in accordance with legislation and Litchfield Council's WHS policies, procedures and standards.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Experience working in a public library (preferred but not essential)
A strong customer service focus with the ability to engage positively with people of all ages and backgrounds
Confidence using technology, including Library Management Systems (experience with OCLC WorldShare is highly regarded)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A positive, flexible attitude with the ability to work weekends as required
A collaborative approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed
You will also:
Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Ochre Card
Hold, or be willing to obtain, current First Aid and CPR certification
Hold a current Driver's Licence
Be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and criminal history check
