We are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist who will take lead of the purchasing department, negotiating with suppliers to get the best price, quality, reliability, lead times and contract terms, whilst ensuring all purchases adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards while mitigating supply chain disruptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and controlling the company’s inventory and suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchasing of products sourced from overseas.
- Implementing processes to analyse sales demand, lead times, stock movements to maintain optimum re-order and re-stocking levels.
- Planning and implementing processes to forecast and maintain the required stock levels at minimum cost.
- Negotiating air and see freight rates.
- Managing price increases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers ensuring that they continue to perform to our required standards.
- Liaising with the Sales Department regarding stock requirements and lead times.
- Oversee the recording transactions of all purchases, stock movement and stock management for local and overseas.
- Overseeing other Purchasing Department staff activities and performance.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification or at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a sound understanding of Procurement processes.
- High level of accuracy.
- Impeccable time management and understanding of work priorities.
- Leadership experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High level of computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data entry, spreadsheets, formulas) and Outlook (email management and calendar scheduling.
- ABM Experience is highly desirable.
