About the role
UASPO requires the support of an NV1 cleared Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) subject matter expert to support both the AUSLIST program and ASCA Precision Loitering Munitions (PLM) missions.
What will I be doing day to day?
- Support the development of AI/ML requirements
- Represent the client at AI/ML related Defence activities (conferences and working groups)
- Develop AI/ML policy for the certification to support future UAS projects within the client's program of work including RAS at Scale Delivery Model
- Develop machine learning models using Python and common AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, or similar
- Work in multidisciplinary engineering environments involving systems, software, data, hardware, operations, and test teams
What skills do I need?
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science (AI/ML) or similar
- Experience working with complex datasets, including imagery, video, sensor data, telemetry, time-series data, simulation data, or engineering data
- Strong understanding of machine learning model development, validation, testing, deployment, and performance monitoring
- Experience with software engineering practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, documentation, and agile delivery
- Experience in UAS, autonomous systems, loitering munitions, aerospace, defence, robotics, electronic systems, mission systems, or weapons systems programs (desirable)
- Experience with computer vision, sensor fusion, edge AI, embedded AI, geospatial analytics, autonomy assurance, simulation environments, or real-time data processing (desirable)
- Understanding of defence security, export controls, ITAR/EAR, cyber security, safety management, human-in-the-loop systems, and responsible AI principles (desirable)
- Experience with tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ROS, C++, CUDA, SQL, Databricks, Palantir, Teamcenter, Cameo, DOORS, Jira, Confluence, or similar (desirable)
