About the role and where you will be working:
The Team Leader – Community Housing will lead the team at Southern Cross Housing in supporting our tenants and ensuring that the portfolio of tenancies and homes is appropriately managed in line with the Community Housing Framework.
Southern Cross Housing are a tier 2 provider, with the majority of our tenants being over 55’s in the metro area, and this role is key in ensuring our tenants are appropriately supported, and held at the centre of our decision making, leading to ongoing tenant satisfaction and compliance with the performance outcomes of the framework.
This position is located in our central office in Rivervale with the option to work from home 2 or 3 days a week.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Lead the team of Housing Officers and Administrator.

Ensure that a supportive landlord model drives decision making and operations.

Encourage and assist the Housing Officers in supporting tenants and providing connections to support services.

Encourage genuine tenant relationships, SCH has tenants for life who have an enduring relationship with SCH as a Community Housing provider.

Work collaboratively with the maintenance team in ensuring that homes are appropriately maintained.

Chair the quarterly Tenant Advisory Committee meetings.

Manage tenant and community engagement obligations.

Assist the Housing Officers in ensuring that property inspections are conducted every 6 months.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at Shelter WA, the Department, and other providers.

With the Chief Property Officer, manage the budget for Southern Cross Housing.
About you:
This person would have demonstrated leadership attributes and interpersonal skills that align with our values and can inspire others. Previous experience in a similar role strongly preferred.
To be successful, you will have:

At least four years’ experience in a similar position

Community Housing experience
-
Demonstrated working knowledge and understanding of the Community Housing Framework
-
Demonstrated working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act
-
Demonstrated knowledge of and understanding of relevant tenant and property management systems.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
-
Excellent presentation and a positive, friendly and flexible
-
Current driver’s license
