About the Role
As a Data Communications Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering communications and network infrastructure projects across commercial, government and critical infrastructure environments throughout Adelaide.
Working alongside experienced electrical and communications professionals, you'll be involved in the installation, testing and commissioning of a range of structured cabling and communications systems while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, termination and testing of structured cabling systems
- Fibre optic, coaxial and communications infrastructure works
- Testing, fault finding and commissioning of communications networks
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Working collaboratively to deliver projects safely and on schedule
- Supervising small work crews when required
- Maintaining compliance with company, client and industry standards
- Supporting delivery across commercial, government, defence and critical infrastructure projects
What We're Looking For
You are a motivated communications professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and enjoys working in a team environment.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience installing and testing communications and structured cabling systems
- Strong understanding of commercial communications infrastructure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Availability to work both day and night shifts
Highly Regarded
- Previous experience on defence, government or critical infrastructure projects
- Experience supervising small crews or acting as Leading Hand
- Retail project experience
- Australia Defence Force NV1 Security Clearance
- Australian Citizenship
Licences & Qualifications
Mandatory
- Current Driver's Licence
- White Card / Construction Induction Card
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform)
- Working at Heights
Highly Desirable
- Registered Cabler Licence
- Endorsements for:
- Structured Cabling
- Fibre Optic Cabling

- Defence NV1 Clearance
