Female Disability Support Worker – Sunbury, VIC
Unmatched Support Services is seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Female Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support to a participant in Sunbury, VIC.
The participant lives with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), mental health conditions, chronic pain disorder, intellectual disability, and psychosocial disability. We are looking for a Support Worker who can provide consistent, respectful support while encouraging independence and confidence.
About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting emotional regulation and task completion
- Assisting with establishing consistent daily routines and self-care
- Supporting household management and daily living activities
- Encouraging independence with budgeting and household finances
- Providing community access and supporting participation in preferred activities
- Building confidence, independence, and practical life skills
- Encouraging greater independence and reducing reliance on family support
- Maintaining a professional, respectful, and person-centred approach
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Female (around 20's-40's of age range)
- Calm, patient, empathetic, and reliable
- Experienced in supporting people with mental health and psychosocial disability
- Confident working with complex and changing support needs
- Professional and able to maintain appropriate boundaries
- Skilled in building trust and positive working relationships
- Experienced with FND, chronic pain, mental health, or psychosocial disability — highly regarded
The participant has also expressed specific preferences regarding the background and characteristics of their Support Worker. These preferences will be considered as part of the participant-centred matching process, where applicable and lawful.
