This is a hands-on role ideal for a trade-qualified Diesel Fitter who enjoys mentoring others, driving high maintenance standards, and ensuring equipment reliability in a fast-paced mining environment.
Working a 7/7 rotating day and night roster, this DIDO opportunity includes camp accommodation and meals, offering long-term stability and excellent earning potential.

The Opportunity
As the Maintenance Leading Hand, you will provide frontline leadership across the maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on maintenance work, you'll play a critical role in maximising fleet availability and supporting site production targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of maintenance personnel on shift
- Coordinating planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance activities
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical faults across heavy mobile equipment
- Conducting inspections and identifying reliability improvement opportunities
- Managing work orders, maintenance records, and reporting requirements
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with site procedures
- Working closely with Supervisors and Planners to optimise maintenance outcomes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Diesel Mechanic, or Plant Mechanic
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Senior Maintainer, or similar leadership position
- Strong experience maintaining Caterpillar mining and earthmoving equipment
- Sound knowledge of CAT SIS and CAT ET diagnostic systems
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and team success
