Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused Front of House Team Member / Barista to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences, and has a genuine passion for hospitality. As the face of Eden, you will play a key role in ensuring every customer receives warm, friendly, and professional service from the moment they walk through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Excellence
- Greet all customers warmly and professionally.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
- Build positive relationships with customers and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer customer enquiries regarding menu items, cakes, ingredients, dietary requirements, and services.
- Handle customer feedback and concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain a positive attitude during busy periods and challenging situations.
Coffee Preparation & Beverage Service
- Prepare high-quality coffee and espresso-based beverages according to company standards.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure consistency in coffee quality and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station throughout service.
- Monitor milk, coffee bean, and beverage stock levels.
Front Counter & Point of Sale
- Process customer orders accurately using the POS system.
- Handle cash, EFTPOS, and other payment transactions responsibly.
- Upsell products and promote daily specials where appropriate.
- Manage takeaway and dine-in orders efficiently.
- Ensure accurate order communication between front and back of house teams.
Food & Product Presentation
- Display cakes, pastries, desserts, and retail products attractively.
- Monitor product presentation and freshness.
- Restock display cabinets and shelves as required.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
Venue Maintenance & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organised, and inviting customer area.
- Clear and clean tables promptly.
- Wash dishes and assist with cleaning duties when required.
- Ensure bathrooms and customer areas remain clean and presentable.
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
Teamwork & Workplace Culture
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and management.
- Support team members during busy service periods.
- Contribute positively to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
- Demonstrate professionalism, honesty, and accountability in all tasks.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement opportunities.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Report hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues promptly.
