Central Australia Aboriginal Congress (Congress) are currently seeking experienced GP Locum coverage for their Yulara and Imanpa Clinics.
Congress has expanded to become the largest Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation in the Northern Territory, providing a comprehensive, holistic and culturally-appropriate primary health care service to Aboriginal people living in and nearby Alice Springs, including seven remote communities.
The Clinic
Congress works in consultation with the Yulara and Imanpa communities to deliver primary health care to their residents.
Onsite are doctors, nurses and Aboriginal health practitioners and visiting allied health staff that include dietitian, optometrist, podiatrist, diabetes nurse and psychologist services.
Services provided by the clinic include:
- Health checks (includes child health checks)
- Immunisations
- Medication
- Health education
- Other Congress and external services
- Healthy lifestyle promotion
Benefits
- $2000 per day
- No on call or weekend work
- One off travel bonus of $400 for travel outside placement dates
- $400 payment for public holiday days not worked
- $1000 placement bonus for working 20 days

- February 2025 onwards
- Minimum 3 week placement

Transport and Accommodation
- All transport from the nearest major airport to and from a location
- Accommodation and transport to and from the clinics will be provided
- Vehicle for use outside of clinic hours is subject to availability
Clinic Opening Hours
- Yulara Clinic is open 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 9:30am to 5:00pm Wednesday and 8:30am to 12:00pm Thursday.
- Imanpa Clinic is open 8:30am to 5:00pm Tuesday, 9:30am to 5:00pm Wednesday and 8:30am to 12:00pm Thursday.

- This clinic uses Communicare, with orientation provided
Eligibility to Apply
- Must have current non-restricted registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and general practice specialisation
- Cultural safety skills, knowledge of Aboriginal health and chronic disease management
