Social Services Regulator
The Social Services Regulator (SSR) is an independent statutory authority that exists to safeguard the rights of children and young people as well as people who use social services in Victoria.
The SSR regulates the Social Services Standards, the Child Safe Standards (for organisations without a sector specific co-regulator as well as the social services sector), and also administers the Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme (WCES), Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS) and Working with Children Check (WWCC) scheme and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
The Social Services Regulator takes an integrated and intelligence driven approach to identifying, preventing and excluding unsafe people from working with children and young people, as well as ensuring organisations that work with children and young people keep children safe from abuse and harm by meeting the Child Safe Standards.
As a co-regulator of the Child Safe Standards, the Social Services Regulator works with other co-regulators of the Child Safe Standards including the Department of Health, Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), Victorian Early Childhood Regulation Authority (VECRA), and Workforce Inspectorate Victoria to keep children safe from harm and abuse.
THE ROLE
The Senior Case Manager takes a lead role in the delivery of the Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS) case management approach, including receiving and reviewing allegations of child abuse, assessing entity capacity to undertake investigations, monitoring entity investigations and recommending improvements following an investigation.
The Senior Case Manager reports to a Team Leader and assists them and the RCS Branch Managers to maintain a high quality and integrated compliance effort. The Senior Case Manager is responsible for undertaking their own case management in addition to supporting Case Managers, in particular through advising on more complex matters and escalating issues.
At times this position requires engagement with challenging and confronting subject matter. This role will best suit a candidate who is resilient, empathetic, a team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing a caseload of complex RCS cases, including receiving notifications, monitoring case progress, assessing entity's capability to undertake RCS investigations, informing and involving other agencies as required (e.g. other regulatory agencies, police, etc.), providing oversight and quality assurance of the investigative process, assessing the investigation outcomes, recommending any regulatory intervention, actively monitoring cases where action is halted for any reason and managing cases through any administrative or judicial review process

Acting as the key liaison point with organisations undertaking, undergoing or involved in RCS investigations, and developing supportive relationships to facilitate positive outcomes

Assisting the team leader and managers in implementing, revising and monitoring relevant internal and external operational policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that the SSR is best placed to fulfil its RCS functions
