Mi Piace Espresso Bar is a café in Cairns City seeking an experienced Breakfast Chef to join our busy and dynamic team.
If you're an early riser, love the smell of bacon and eggs and can plate like Picasso with a great attitude and energy then this is the job for you!
Must have great communication skills, has initiative and is a highly motivated kitchen team member that can work efficiently and remain calm under pressure.
What we're looking for:
· Experience working in a small, fast-paced stand-alone café environment.
· Minimum 3-5 years of kitchen experience required.
· Comfortable working across all stations as needed including daily preparation.
· Breakfast experience is a must.
· Minimum 3+ years of breakfast cooking experience required.
· Catering experience not essential however would be an advantage.
· Strong focus on organisation, food safety, cleanliness, stock rotation, inventory,
costings and waste management
· Quality assurance – Dishes being served and plated to make sure they are of a high standard, and each dish is uniform in presentation with a keen eye for detail.
· A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
· Great communication skills – English Speaking.
· Well-groomed/presented clean cut chef – open kitchen.
· Able to multitask and react to situations and think on your feet.
· New menu ideas, planning and weekly special suggestions to reflect seasonal
ingredients.
