Details: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Executive Branch Manager (EBM) Program Management, Governance and Legal, leads the Agency’s Portfolio Management Office (PMO), Governance and Legal functions.
This role is responsible for leading SLA to mature and embed portfolio governance practices to promote project delivery and performance with a strong focus on building project capability and Governance across SLA. The EBM plays a critical role in aligning the agency’s portfolio with its strategic objectives, driving consistency and enhancing operational excellence.
The EBM is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and continuous improvement of SLA’s governance frameworks and policies for best practice and compliance across the Agency, including Board Secretariat.
The role requires experience and capability in building and maintaining strategic relationships across SLA and Government and takes responsibility to implement policies and deliver projects that support achievement of Government’s strategic priorities and SLA’s financial and non-financial performance goals.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong collaboration and leadership in strategic policy and stakeholder relations. An established record in program management, governance, legal and strategic policy development and implementation is essential.
The position requires a person with exceptional executive management skills who will provide leadership and direction in the planning and delivery of services across the business, robust assurance and project management governance which enables SLA to deliver its program of work.
Commencing 1 July 2026 all ACTPS Senior Executive Service members are required to exercise the functions of their position in accordance with the closing the gap principle ACT Closing the Gap Implementation Plan - ACT Government Transparency Portal
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $262,024 - $270,098 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $230,688.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to three years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
