We are looking for a number of Casual Supporter Services Officers to join our dynamic fundraising team for 2-3 months.

Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) was Australia’s first dedicated paediatric research facility and is now one of the world’s most highly regarded independent medical research centres. Our research focuses on the areas of embryonic development and birth defects, cancer, neuroscience and gene therapy and we have a strong international reputation based on our research outcomes. It is also home to the world-first proteomics project, ProCan®, which is changing the way cancer is diagnosed and treated. CMRI’s research programs are supported by state of the art facilities and committed research and support staff. Our achievements are made possible by a loyal network of community supporters, highly engaged donors and the very successful Jeans for Genes® fundraising campaign.
Work with a team of dedicated professionals
We are looking for a number of Casual Supporter Services Officers to join our dynamic fundraising team for two to three months (these roles will ideally commence 1st June and run through to the end of August) to help CMRI to make outbound calls for this year’s Jeans for Genes Campaign:
- Provide exceptional customer/supporter service and retention
- Manage and maintain customer/supporter relationship management systems
- Support the fundraising team with various tasks and initiatives
- Handle telemarketing activities as needed
- Conduct outbound calls to engage past supporters/fundraisers, encouraging them to join us again this year
- Make engagement calls to thank those who have already registered for this year, offering them support and encouragement with their fundraising
- Identify and anticipate supporters' needs, working to exceed their expectations

What can you bring to this role?
- Ideally of 2 to 3 years' experience in a customer/supporter services team, ideally within a not-for-profit organisation
- Experience in telemarketing is desirable
- Experience supporting a fundraising team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A positive attitude with lots of empathy and patience
