We are currently looking for a precise and practical Civil Draftsperson to join our team and help lay the groundwork for our upcoming residential projects.
The Role
As our Civil Draftsperson, you will be the bridge between initial site planning and the physical build. You will be responsible for creating the critical civil design, such as drainage and foundations that our residential builds rely on. You will split your time between desk-based drafting and site visits to ensure everything aligns with the blueprints, local building codes, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed sketches, charts, tabulations, plans, and designs for residential civil engineering works, with a specific focus on site drainage, water supply, and sewerage reticulation systems.
- Interpret work assignment instructions and site briefs. Apply appropriate drafting procedures and select the correct software/equipment for accurate execution.
- Collect and analyze site-specific data and carry out all necessary engineering and spatial computations for residential lots.
- Estimate material costs for the civil works phase and ensure all finished works strictly adhere to local residential building regulations, specifications, and contract provisions.
- Inspect ongoing civil engineering works on our residential sites. Organize, schedule, and supervise any required maintenance and repair work to ensure project continuity.
What We Are Looking For
- Relevant qualification or diploma in Civil Construction Design, Drafting, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in standard drafting software.
- Solid understanding of residential construction processes and Australian building standards.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail when carrying out computations and estimating materials.
- Ability to communicate clearly with site managers, engineers, and on-site construction crews.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Thomastown VIC 3074
