The Opportunity:
Join the team keeping freight moving between Adelaide and Melbourne.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Fleet Controller will coordinate and optimise daily linehaul operations across our Adelaide and Melbourne-based fleet. You’ll work closely with drivers, customers and operational teams to ensure freight movements are safe, compliant, efficient and delivered on schedule.
This is a hands-on operational role where you’ll monitor the network, respond to issues, manage changing priorities and keep communication flowing across both locations. You’ll play a key role in maximising fleet utilisation, supporting driver performance and delivering reliable service to our customers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Coordinating daily fleet scheduling
- Managing manifests and transport movements
- Monitoring driver fatigue compliance and Safe Driver Plans
- Scheduling annual driver training
- Maintaining strong communication with drivers and customers
- Investigating service failures and operational incidents
- Co-ordinating fleet maintenance schedules
- Ensuring compliance with transport laws, accreditation schemes and K&S company policies
- Reporting delays, incidents and non-conformances in a timely manner
- Supporting safe, efficient and cost-effective operations
- Building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
- Accurate record keeping
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in transport scheduling, fleet control or logistics
- Strong knowledge of fatigue management and transport compliance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Proven ability to work with multiple teams
- Positive team-oriented approach
- Extensive knowledge of safe operating procedures – e.g. manual handling, defensive driving, incident & injury reporting, LUEZ
