Senior Laboratory Technician

Mackay Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Water Treatment team on a permanent full-time basis.
Your role will involve supporting the Mackay Regional Council's Water and Waste Services and its clients by contributing to the prompt delivery of high-quality scientific and analytical services. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of laboratory technicians who perform various physical, chemical, and microbiological tests. Your primary objective will be to ensure that analysis schedules are adhered to and turnaround times are met.
The successful applicant will:
- Have appropriate qualifications in Chemistry and/or Microbiology (Bachelor Degree, Associate Diploma etc.) or a recognised equivalent qualification
- Hold a current QLD “C” class driver’s licence
- Have the ability to use, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot a wide variety of laboratory and field equipment
- Have demonstrated knowledge of laboratory quality management systems such as NATA requirements and commitments to the principles of quality assurance and control

- Annual base salary range from $95,769 - $97,888
- Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply)
