Endless Support Services is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our small, values-driven team.
We are currently recruiting for a specific role supporting a young person in Mudgeeraba. Support is provided using a two-worker model and involves community access, transport and behaviour support in accordance with the participant’s Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP).
The participant is subject to approved regulated restrictive practices. Workers must be able to follow the PBSP, relevant procedures and all reporting requirements consistently.
About the role:
This position currently involves a regular five-hour shift every Saturday, with the potential for additional shifts.
Duties may include:
- Supporting the participant to access the community and participate in activities
- Providing transport in a safe and reliable manner
- Working collaboratively with another support worker as part of a two-worker support model
- Implementing behaviour support strategies consistently and in accordance with the participant’s PBSP
- Following procedures relating to approved regulated restrictive practices
- Supporting the participant with routines, engagement and skill development
- Recognising and responding calmly to signs of distress or dysregulation
- Completing clear and accurate shift, incident and restrictive-practice documentation
- Providing consistent, trauma-informed and person-centred support
- Following support plans, organisational procedures and reporting requirements
About you:
This is not an entry-level position. Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker is essential.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, observant and calm under pressure. You must be able to work collaboratively, maintain professional boundaries and follow established behaviour support strategies consistently.
You must:
- Have previous disability support work or closely related experience
- Have experience providing behaviour support in accordance with a PBSP
- Be available for a regular five-hour shift every Saturday
- Be willing to work as part of a two-worker support model
- Understand trauma-informed care
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Hold a current Blue Card
- Hold a current Queensland driver licence
- Hold current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Have access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle
- Be able to commence promptly
Experience supporting young people subject to regulated restrictive practices will be highly regarded.
