Waramanga Medical Centre is a well-established private billing general practice committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred healthcare to the local community. We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Registered Nurse to join our friendly multidisciplinary team.
This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work across a broad range of general practice nursing activities in a supportive environment using Best Practice clinical software.
About the Role
As a Practice Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting GPs and improving patient outcomes through preventative care, chronic disease management, health promotion, and clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and assist with clinical care
- Perform wound care, dressings, and infection control procedures
- Immunisations and vaccine administration
- Assist with care plans and chronic disease management programs
- Health assessments and preventative health screening
- ECGs, spirometry and other clinical procedures (training provided where required)
- Support minor procedures and treatment room activities
- Patient education and health promotion activities
- Cold chain and vaccine management
- Recall and reminder systems management
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Best Practice software
- Stock management and clinical equipment maintenance
- Liaise with GPs, allied health and external services
- Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Commitment to patient-centred care
- Competent computer and clinical documentation skills
Desirable
- Previous experience in General Practice nursing
- Experience with Best Practice software
- Immunisation certification
- Chronic disease management experience
- Treatment room experience
