The Manager Audit and Assurance leads the organisation’s audit, assurance, risk and fraud control functions, ensuring the agency meets its statutory, regulatory and policy obligations while supporting effective governance and decision-making. A key focus of the role is establishing a holistic view of risk and assurance activities across the organisation, developing an assurance map, and delivering a risk-based internal audit program that complements existing assurance activities and avoids duplication.
The role is responsible for strengthening the organisation’s enterprise risk management and assurance framework, defining and mapping organisational risks, overseeing fraud and corruption control, managing Public Interest Disclosures (PIDs), and providing trusted advice to executive leadership and governance committees. Through these activities, the position plays a critical role in fostering a culture of integrity, accountability and continuous improvement.

You are an experienced audit, risk or governance professional with a strong track record of developing and delivering contemporary audit and assurance frameworks within complex organisations. You bring extensive experience leading internal audit programs, enterprise risk management initiatives, fraud and corruption control frameworks, and governance activities that support organisational objectives. Your knowledge of public sector governance, compliance obligations, risk management principles and relevant legislation enables you to provide trusted, evidence-based advice to senior executives, committees and key stakeholders.
You are a strategic thinker with highly developed analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. You can identify emerging risks, navigate complex and rapidly changing environments, and balance competing priorities to deliver practical outcomes. Your ability to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships allows you to effectively partner with leadership teams while maintaining independence and objectivity. A commitment to continuous improvement, sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be key to your success in this role.
Tertiary qualifications in a governance, audit, risk management or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in a relevant field.
Extensive experience developing and implementing audit, risk and assurance strategies, frameworks, systems and programs aligned with organisational objectives and risks.
Demonstrated knowledge of risk management principles, governance frameworks, fraud and corruption control practices, and assurance methodologies.
