What you'll do:
The role of Warehouse Operative is a full-time position suitable for an individual with experience in warehouse operations.
This role will work under the Facility and Logistics Manager to complete warehouse and facility operations at the Auburn location.
You will be expected to maintain and further develop skills over time in both office duties such as computer operations as well as physical warehouse skills such as forklift operations, stock selection and packing, working Monday to Friday in the Auburn facility.
You are required to hold a NSW driver’s license as well as a forklift license.
Warehouse duties require access to restricted and controlled products. Maintaining Australian citizenship and completing government security screening and training to keep a Baseline or higher AGSVA security clearance are necessary.
The role will require you to manually handle crates, boxes and equipment cases weighing up to 32Kg as part of day-to-day operations, so you will need to be physically able to undertake such activities in accordance with manual handling training provided.
The day-to-day:
- Attendance at the facility in Auburn each working day;
- Careful and accurate completion of warehouse and site operations tasks as assigned under supervision of the Facility and Logistics Manager;
- Completion of training or development activities assigned by the Facility and Logistics Manager, or other appointed supervisor, to agreed schedule;
- Compliance with business policies, procedures and all Work, Health and Safety directives.
- Receipt of deliveries to the Auburn site, inspection and unpacking of received goods;
- Recording received material into appropriate computer stock control and ticketing applications;
- Movement of stock and inventory within the warehouse using pallet jack or forklift;
- Manual handling of products and equipment that can weigh as much as 32Kg;
- Picking and packing products and materials for shipment either locally or internationally based on instructions provided;
- Preparation of consignment documentation for outgoing shipments;
- Facilitating collection of outgoing shipments by couriers or staff;
- Responding to inquiries as to the status of shipments;
- Engagement with, and management activities related to facilities and logistics vendors
- Participation in business programs and internal initiatives
- Contribution to continuous improvement and efficiency in the workplace
- Other administrative duties delegated by your line manager within your abilities and skills.
What you'll need:
- Have completed your HSC, or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience;
- Demonstrate a high level of competence and comprehension of English language
- Maintain demonstrated proficiency in operating a computer running Windows 11
- Maintain proficiency in the use of Viasat software applications used in the role
- Maintain competence with use of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Maintain a current NSW Drivers License
- Ensure your Forklift Operator License is current
What will help you on the job:
- Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment as part of a team.
- Ability to apply critical thinking to resolve logistical issues as they occur.
