The Role
The Business Development Manager will lead market engagement, client acquisition and relationship management across Victoria. This role is suited to a proactive, commercially minded individual with strong industry networks and the ability to translate client needs into engineering opportunities.
You will work closely with senior engineers, project managers and directors to position BRIC as a preferred partner for builders, developers, architects, certifiers and local government.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities across residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, developers, architects, surveyors and industry partners.
- Represent BRIC at meetings, site visits, industry events and networking forums.
- Prepare proposals, fee submissions and capability statements aligned with BRIC’s compliance and quality standards.
- Manage client onboarding, communication and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide market intelligence, competitor insights and strategic recommendations to support business growth.
- Work with the Melbourne engineering team to ensure delivery standards meet BRIC’s national quality benchmarks.
- Support the establishment and branding of BRIC’s new East Coast division.
About You
- Proven experience in business development, account management or industry liaison within engineering, construction or property.
- Strong understanding of structural/civil engineering services, building processes or certification pathways.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities and drive outcomes.
- Professional presentation and confidence representing a technical consultancy.
- Existing industry network in Victoria (highly desirable).
- A results‑driven mindset with a commitment to compliance, accuracy and client service.

Pay: $78,580.88 – $152,507.26 per year
