Role Description The Civil Engineering Draftsperson is a full-time, on-site role based in Springfield Central, QLD. This role is responsible for preparing detailed civil engineering drawings and technical documentation for residential construction projects, including site layouts, earthworks plans, drainage, and civil infrastructure. The draftsperson collaborates with engineers, designers, and project managers to interpret design concepts and translate them into accurate plans that align with project specifications, local standards, and regulations. Daily tasks include using CAD software to develop and revise drawings, coordinating with the construction team to resolve design queries, and maintaining organized drawing records and revisions. The role also involves checking drawings for accuracy and completeness, supporting approvals and permitting processes, and contributing to continuous improvement of drafting standards and workflows.
Qualifications
- Civil engineering design skills, including experience with Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering Drafting for residential projects.
- Strong technical drawing capabilities, with proficiency in Technical Drawing and Engineering Drawings for site works and infrastructure layouts.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools used in civil and construction drafting.
- Relevant qualification in civil engineering, drafting, or a related discipline (e.g., diploma or degree).
- Understanding of applicable local building codes, standards, and civil engineering practices.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, designers, and site personnel.
- Experience in residential construction or similar field is beneficial; knowledge of Australian standards and Springfield Central/QLD local requirements is an advantage.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
