We are partnering with a large, multi-brand trade and distribution business undergoing a significant transformation across its commercial and merchandising function.
This is not a BAU Category Manager role.
This opportunity sits at the heart of a strategic reset, moving from a traditional buying environment to a more sophisticated, end-to-end category management model, with clear ownership across range, pricing, inventory, and margin performance.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of a high-volume, SKU-intensive category within a complex trade environment, with the mandate to:
- Drive category strategy and performance
- Optimise range architecture and product mix
- Improve inventory efficiency and stock health
- Influence pricing and margin outcomes
- Build stronger, more commercial supplier partnerships
You’ll play a key role in implementing structure, process, and discipline, helping to shape what “best practice” looks like within the business.
About You
We are looking for commercially minded Category Managers who:
- Have experience in hardgoods, trade, wholesale or B2B environments
- Bring strong capability across inventory, pricing, and margin management
- Are comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Enjoy building and improving ways of working, not just maintaining them
- Have the resilience and mindset to drive change and influence stakeholders
Experience from businesses such as hardware, automotive, building supplies, industrial or trade-led retail will be highly regarded.
