Fire 4 Change is looking for an experienced and resilient female Disability Support Worker to join a small, consistent support team for an adult participant in the Sunnybank area.
This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys building long-term relationships with participants and understands that trust, rapport and strong professional boundaries take time to develop.
Regular shifts available:
- Monday – generally 2:00pm–12:00am
- Thursday – generally 2:00pm–12:00am
- Friday – generally 2:00pm–12:00am
- Additional shifts and fill-in opportunities available
Shifts are generally 10 hours, with some supports potentially running 12:00pm–12:00am (12 hours) depending on the participant’s needs.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting complex mental health and psychosocial disability
- Is confident with personal care
- Is calm, grounded and able to read the room
- Has strong communication and professional boundaries
- Can take feedback and adjust their approach
- Is resilient and doesn’t take challenging moments personally
- Takes initiative while still respecting participant choice and control
- Understands that building trust can take time
- Is reliable and committed to consistent ongoing shifts
- Is willing to work collaboratively with a Relationship Manager and established support team
This participant needs workers who are willing to learn the person, not just work the shift.
There will be good days and challenging days. We’re looking for someone who can remain consistent through both and understands the value of putting in the work to build a strong, long-term support relationship.
You will receive buddy shifts, participant-specific training, support documentation and ongoing guidance from our Fire 4 Change team.
If you’re looking for consistent hours and want to be part of a team where quality support, relationships and genuine impact matter, we’d love to hear from you.
