What’s the role?
An exciting opportunity is available for a Product Owner to lead the ongoing development, governance and adoption of Westpac’s strategic Model Risk Management (MRM) platform. You’ll own the platform roadmap, backlog and release priorities, ensuring enhancements deliver business value while supporting regulatory, risk and operational requirements.
Working closely with Model Risk stakeholders, Technology teams and vendors, you’ll drive platform improvements, manage competing priorities and support successful delivery outcomes. You’ll also play a key role in building stakeholder engagement, increasing platform adoption and ensuring the platform continues to meet the evolving needs of Westpac’s model risk environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and prioritise the MRM platform roadmap, backlog and releases.
- Make business decisions on scope, priorities and go-live readiness.
- Partner with stakeholders, Technology teams and vendors to deliver platform enhancements.
- Review and approve requirements, testing outcomes and release activities.
Drive stakeholder engagement, platform adoption and continuous improvement.

What do I need?
We’re looking for someone with strong product ownership, business ownership or lead business analysis experience, ideally within a risk, financial services, platform, transformation or control environment.
- Experience as a Product Owner, Platform Owner, Lead Business Analyst or similar role.
- Strong understanding of risk governance, controls or financial services environments.
- Experience with UAT, release management, change governance and implementation activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across business, technology and vendor groups.
- Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and make value-driven decisions.
Desirable: Experience with model risk platforms, Model Risk, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Treasury, Finance or Risk Transformation, along with tools such as JIRA, Confluence and workflow management platforms.
