> Play an active role in the development and administration of the strategic direction in the Middle
School, with a specific focus on Christ centred learning and teaching in a Preschool – Year 12 school.
> In partnership with the Middle School Learning and Teaching Coordinator, promote and implement key
learning and teaching strategic objectives with all Middle School staff, ensuring that there is
understanding, engagement and participation at all staff levels.
> Encourage and maintain a climate of quality and excellence in learning and teaching.
> Develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
> Respond proactively to the changing education sector in line with the School’s strategic priorities, lead
innovation collaboratively and model a positive approach to change in your area of responsibility.
> Assist the Head of Middle School in the management of the Middle School.
Wellbeing Leadership
> Support teachers with wellbeing in their classes including in the area of academic care and discipline
within your area of responsibility.
> Oversee student management and liaise with the Student Wellbeing Coordinator as required regarding
behaviour, attendance, uniform and the application by students of the school’s values.
> Support and assist the Head of School and Student Wellbeing Coordinator as required in matters
pertaining to wellbeing.
Educational Leadership
> Promote excellence in Christian education.
> Ensure that a sound knowledge of emerging trends in educational theory, learning theory, curriculum
and assessment practice underpins learning and teaching as it pertains to curriculum, assessment,
cross-curriculum priorities and general capabilities within the Christian school context.
> Lead teachers in the development, implementation, evaluation and review of their curriculum
particularly in relation to the Australian Curriculum and other legislative requirements as required for
school registration.
> Develop, maintain and implement policies on curriculum, assessment, cross-curriculum priorities and
general capabilities for Year 6 - 8.
> Ensure development and implementation of Assessment Policy and Reporting Procedures is consistent
with the Outcomes approach to curriculum in a Christian school.
> Organise and oversee all aspects of the Middle School’s assessment programs related to the tracking
of students from Year 6 - 8. This includes providing analysis to Heads of School, the Director of Learning
and Teaching and other coordinators and teaching staff of individual students and cohorts for
trends/gaps etc. Programs such as: NAPLAN, PIPs, PAT etc.
> Develop and coordinate parent information sessions regarding curriculum, assessment, cross-
curriculum priorities and general capabilities matters for Year 6 - 8.
> With the Head of Middle School, and other Coordinators as required, oversee and manage any issues
pertaining to student assessment and reporting.
> Support teachers in the development of good classroom management and effective teaching practice
from a Christian worldview.
> Maintain a practicing role as a classroom teacher.
> Act as lead for teaching staff and serve as liaison between teaching staff and technical support ensuring
the ongoing development of digital learning and teaching.
> Teach staff and others to implement digital learning and teaching technologies and strategies. Utilising
best practices, design, develop and present staff development programs, and offer training on the use
of online course tools and teaching strategies.
