We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Fleet Controller to oversee the coordination, compliance, and efficiency of our vehicle fleet. This role is responsible for ensuring our vehicles are safe, roadworthy, available when needed, and managed in a cost-effective manner.
About the role
The Fleet Controller will manage day-to-day fleet operations, including servicing schedules, compliance records, vehicle availability, and maintenance coordination. You will work closely with drivers, suppliers, mechanics, and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate the daily operation of the fleet.
Schedule servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Monitor vehicle availability, utilisation, and downtime.
Maintain accurate fleet records, registrations, licences, and compliance documentation.
Manage fuel usage, operating costs, and repair expenditure.
Liaise with drivers, workshops, insurers, and suppliers.
Investigate vehicle issues, breakdowns, and incident reports.
Support driver compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, costs, and maintenance activity.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
About you
Previous experience in fleet coordination, transport, logistics, or a similar role.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet compliance requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet management systems.
Current driver’s licence required.
Desirable
Experience in transport, warehousing, construction, logistics, or a related industry.
Knowledge of WHS and transport compliance requirements.
Experience preparing reports, tracking costs, or supporting budgeting processes.
