We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our market-leading Corporate M&A team in Melbourne. This is a 12 month parental leave contract.

Key responsibilities
- Supporting a Partner and member of Corrs Chambers Westgarth board.
- Coordinating communications and relationships with clients and internal/external stakeholders
- Proactively managing complex diaries, ensuring key deadlines, commitments and priorities are effectively coordinated
- Preparing materials, documentation and correspondence in advance of meetings, transactions and critical deadlines
- Overseeing efficient file management and document organisation
- Managing complex calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments
- Handling billing processes, preparing invoices, managing debtor reporting, time coding, and preparing detailed reports
- Organising comprehensive travel arrangements, including flights and accommodation
Required skills and personal attributes
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a legal support role
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Confidence, judgement and initiative to work independently with minimal supervision and manage task autonomously
- Sound understanding of client requirements and experience using Client Resource Database systems for matter opening and billing processes
- Experience and confidence managing complex billing requirements
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Word, Excel & PowerPoint for document formatting, amendments and version control
- Advanced knowledge of CMS/Aderant or other finance related software
- Ability to develop and foster excellent professional relationships internally and with clients
