Your Opportunity
As the TAFE at School Coordinator you will be responsible for:
contributing to the retention and increase of the Region's local training for secondary schools across the Greater Brisbane geographic area, through TAFE at School programs and partnerships;
working closely with Business Managers and delivery teams to identify and develop training opportunities which contribute to the development of TAFE at School strategy plans;
fostering strong client and stakeholder relationships to maximise uptake of TAFE at School program offerings to secondary schools and students; and
coordinating the promotion, delivery and execution of TAFE at School program offerings.
This position reports to the TAFE at School Manager.
This is a Permanent, Full-time opportunity.
The position will be based primarily at Acacia Ridge however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the success of the organisation through promoting and modelling SkillsTech's core values and Agreed Behaviours and the established TAFE Queensland values of Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility, Showing Initiative, and Safety First.
Actively promote TAFE Queensland SkillsTech and TAFE at School programs, products and services by:
supporting the promotion, communication and nomination process for all TAFE at School programs across the Region;
conceptualising, coordinating and implementing the planning of events and engagement activities, including vocational education and training (VET) forums and school events;
dynamically presenting to groups of school students and other school personnel;
contributing to the development of marketing materials including the 'TAFE at School Program Guide';
attendance and presentation at Career Expos and other events; and
identifying business opportunities and developing solutions to meet client needs.
Undertake a range of educational activities relevant to the TAFE at School function, including:
coordination of student enrolments, progression and completion activities;
liaison with students, parents and secondary schools to optimise successful student outcomes;
monitoring of student data for reporting to the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority;
ensuring compliance with the requirements for the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and adherence to required timeframes; and
ensuring compliance with TAFE Queensland policies, procedures, quality benchmarks and systems.
working closing with various TQ departments contributing to planning, enrolments, monitoring, resulting, and awarding;
Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of relevant TAFE Queensland programs, products and resources, Queensland senior schooling requirements (including QCE), current education reforms and emerging markets.
Develop, cultivate and maintain collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships and networks with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including within:
secondary schools and other higher educational providers to promote priority pathways, collaboration opportunities and maximise engagement in TAFE at School programs and initiatives; and
TAFE Queensland to provide advice and support, develop valuable and appropriate program offerings and lead best practice service delivery for TAFE at School.
Effectively manage the provision of timely and accurate information to internal and external clients, ensuring the appropriate actioning of complaints and escalation of matters as necessary to the TAFE at School Manager.
Work collaboratively across TAFE Queensland to coordinate best practice systems, processes and client service through active participation in working groups, networks and other relevant internal and external forums as appropriate.
Utilise a range of software applications and systems relevant to the business operations of the team including the Microsoft Office Suite, human resource, financial and student management systems.
Work collaboratively with the TAFE at School team including providing informal mentoring and guidance, and identifying opportunities for self-development and development of others.
Contribute to continuous business improvement through the development, maintenance and regular review of quality system procedures, processes and documentation to build business efficiencies within the TAFE at School function.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of legislation, standards, policies and procedures relevant to vocational education and training and Queensland secondary schooling, including a demonstrated ability to provide advice on such matters.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to impart information in an engaging and dynamic manner, develop productive and collaborative relationships, and meet client expectations.
Demonstrated project and event management skills including the coordination and prioritisation of a broad range of activities, and the review and analysis of program outcomes.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to work autonomously and effectively under pressure, prioritise tasks, improve products and services and deliver successful outcomes within specified timeframes.
Proven ability to effectively contribute to a high performing team, identifying opportunities for business improvement and proactively seeking and facilitating opportunities for self-development.
