Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker
About the Role
Skyspan Australia is seeking a reliable and motivated Fabricator / Sheet Metal Worker to join our growing manufacturing team. This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week, with a minimum of 38 hours, and overtime opportunities available.
The primary focus of this role is the assembly of sheet metal products used in the manufacture of Skyspan's skylight and roofing systems. Depending on production requirements, you will also assist with general fabrication duties, including operating sheet metal machinery, preparing materials, and supporting other manufacturing processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop specialist fabrication skills within a well-established Australian manufacturer. While previous sheet metal experience is desirable, training will be provided to the right candidate who demonstrates a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities
- Assembly of sheet metal products to production specifications
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
- Assisting with fabrication tasks.
- Operating sheet metal machinery as required
- Reading and following work instructions and production drawings
- Conducting quality inspections to ensure products meet company standards
- Packing and preparing finished products for dispatch
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment
- Following company quality procedures and workplace health and safety requirements
- Assisting with general factory and production duties as required
Skills & Experience
- Experience using basic power tools (essential)
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, or production environments (preferred)
- Experience operating sheet metal machinery (advantageous)
- Experience operating Amada sheet metal machinery is highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good hand skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Requirements
- Available to work full-time (minimum 38 hours per week)
- Able to work reliably Monday to Friday
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- English proficiency (preferred)
- Australian driver's licence (preferred)
