Contract Milker/Farm Manager/Herd Manager for a 450 cow dairy farm located at Mawbanna, North West Tasmania. The dairy is a 32 unit herringbone swingover. A 3/4 bedroom farmhouse is prt of the remuneration.
The successful applicant must be confident in all aspects of day farming including:
pasture management
animal husbandry
maintain and update herd records
implement and monitor the reproduction management plan
execute and plan cattle movements to optimise efficiency of the milking process and minimise cow intake
monitor fences, stock water and irrigation
be capable of working independently but also able to lead a team.
staff management, rostering and mentoring
