We are a growing modern Indian fast food restaurant looking for an experienced Head Chef / Kitchen Lead to help manage and build our kitchen operations.
This role is not just about cooking. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the kitchen, organise daily production, manage kitchen staff, control stock, and help build clear systems as the business grows.
Our kitchen is focused on fresh batch preparation, consistency, structured workflow, and fast-service Indian food.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Managing daily kitchen operations
- Organising workflow for kitchen staff
- Preparing daily prep lists and production plans
- Rostering kitchen staff where required
- Managing stock levels and ordering requirements
- Reducing product shortages and last-minute preparation issues
- Standardising recipes and portion control
- Maintaining consistency across food quality and presentation
- Supervising and training kitchen support staff
- Preparing Indian food items including curries, snacks, fillings, chutneys and fast-service items
- Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation
- Working with ownership to improve kitchen systems, efficiency and scalability
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience with Indian cuisine
- Has experience leading or supervising a commercial kitchen
- Is organised, reliable and systems-focused
- Understands prep planning, stock control and portion consistency
- Can manage kitchen staff and communicate clearly
- Can work calmly and professionally in a small team
- Takes responsibility for kitchen output, not just individual cooking tasks
- Wants to grow with a developing food business
Experience in fast food, takeaway, catering, production kitchens or high-volume prep environments will be highly regarded.
